Design Approach: Courtyard-Centric inward landscape
This 40-cent residential landscape in Kuttipuram is conceived as a house immersed within a garden rather than a garden placed around a house. The design unfolds through a series of intimate courtyards, shaded walkways, and layered tropical planting that blur the boundaries between interior and exterior. Each window and veranda frames greenery at close quarters, transforming everyday views into immersive, living backdrops.
Dense planting palettes, textured ground planes, and filtered light create a sensorial landscape rooted in tropical character. Movement through the site is experiential — transitioning from semi-covered corridors to open lawns, from quiet reflective courts to lush side gardens. The design prioritizes privacy, microclimate comfort, and visual continuity, allowing the residence to breathe through green pockets while maintaining spatial intimacy. The result is a layered, inward-focused landscape that feels calm, protective, and deeply connected to nature.
