Design Approach: Community Park for Everyday Recreation and Social Interaction
Urban Mirage is a neighborhood park designed for a residential community in Coimbatore. Conceived as a shared outdoor space for residents of all age groups, the park brings together play, relaxation, walking trails and community gathering spaces within a compact site.
The design is structured around a central plaza with water features, connected by gently curving pathways that weave through the landscape. A children’s play area, stepped seating, open lawns and shaded pockets create opportunities for both active use and quiet retreat.
A strong framework of canopy trees, bamboo groves and layered tropical planting helps establish shade, privacy and a comfortable microclimate throughout the park. Brick elements and textured paving are used to create identity and add warmth to the space.
Rather than functioning as a standalone amenity, the park is envisioned as an everyday extension of community life — a place where residents can walk, meet, play and spend time outdoors together.
